It’s that time of year again, when all the world begins turning green — and I’m not talking about how close spring is to officially starting. Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day; and, as you have one red-haired cailín on hand here with a severe case of Celtophilia, and another lass willing to go along with her — well, here we are again. We don’t quite have shamrocks tucked behind our ears, and we won’t be swilling green-dyed beer anytime soon, Second Life or Real Life. (Green beer’s an Americanism, anyways, and barbarous at the best of times.) That doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun with green stylin’.
Jemmy has on the latest from AZUL, called (fittingly for the day) Nora. Although I doubt Mami Jewell had Nora Barnacle — the wife of James Joyce — in mind when she named the gown, and this emerald taffeta confection is just one of Mami’s usual colors. Jem’s wearing the miniskirt variation; there’s also a full skirt in the package.
I, on the other hand, am more casual tonight, done up in the green version of COCO’s off-the-shoulder top with sleeves and shirtwaist. (Like Nora, this is a variation; the package, available at the current FaMESHed, includes a “without” version as well.) I pair this with fuller-green leggings, also from COCO. And, fittingly for Ireland, my hair is more carrot-orange than dark red — the Irish tricolor flag is a union of green, white and orange. I’ve also tipped my nails in green, with orange index nails.
