Puttin’ On the Ritz

If you’re blue an’ you don’t know
Where to go to
Why don’t you go where fashion sits
Puttin’ on the Ritz

You can definitely “put on the Ritz” in Kelini Couture.  I’m sad to get the announcement that the haute couture side of the store will be closing down, but there’s still the chance to pick up one or two new dresses; while Jem, who had only been to Kelini once, found an opportunity to grab some of the highest-octane gowns on the Grid at a very affordable price.

This dress, Etoile, is one of the two last haute couture gowns Eva will be doing, but hopefully only for a time!  (She’s changing over to urban style, incidentally, not dropping completely out of design.)  It’s at full price, but worth every Linden penny; I can’t remember offhand anybody doing a bow like this in the back, which makes this gown absolutely delicious!  I can see me in this at the Met Gala some time (provided I could wangle an invitation from Anna, of course).

I’m gonna get dressed for success
shaping me up for the big time, baby
Get dressed for success
shaping it up for your love
Yea yea yea

Jem elected to pose in Evangelista, which is a fairly recent one as I recall, but is part of the clearance sale.  She enjoyed the accents in gold at the collar and around the waist, and loved the drape of the train in back.  Both of us are in jewelry by GeWunjo.

One mandatory note:  be sure to try a demo if you’re using a mesh body!  Most of Eva’s gowns were designed before the mesh bodies shot away in popularity, and so they’re all, even the new ones, done in Standard Sizing.  You need to make sure that your body alpha HUD slices will work with the gown you’re choosing.

Incidentally, if you’re trying to figure out what we mean when we say we chose our applier makeup from “slot x,” it’s not too difficult a thing.  When we add on the applier HUD, we tend to look at it in the longest direction — if the layout is square or horizontally rectangular, we look from left to right across the rows and going down; if it’s more vertical in orientation, we look down the columns, moving left to right.
