joys not only photographs the dress she wears, but she shoots video as well. Check out this article, with a recent dress by Azul, and see what you think.
She had forgotten how the August night Was level as a lake beneath the moon, In which she swam a little, losing sight Of shore; and how the boy, who was at noon Simple enough, not different from the rest, Wore now a pleasant mystery as he went, Which seemed to her an honest enough test Whether she loved him, and she was content.
“(Sigh) Now where’s the blasted bellhop? Surely he knows I’ve gotta get to my room and change. Why, I’ve worn this dress for four whole hours already!”
I hope you’re having a good vacation. We’re all enjoying some time away while we recharge, but I did find this new dress from Azul, and so ….
Last update on the 9th Oscar Fashion Photo Contest, before the proceedings close following the real Academy Awards on Sunday night. I’m going to pass this year on doing the RL 2017 recap.
We’re currently standing at 18 entries, way low for my taste, but enough for an award pool. There’s still several days to get your own entry in, and I hope you’ll do so. I look forward to the difficulty of judging a large field every year. So put yourselves together and shoot some red-carpet photos, and we’ll see what happens in the next few weeks, when the results are announced!

Lisavet Darchiev had been invited to join the Academy from the year the screenplay for her first novel had won that year’s award. She had begun writing her own screenplays since then, and had also attended every year since joining; and this year’s soirée was no exception. One difference did arise from her previous attendances, though — she was escorted not by her business manager, Andrei Nekrasov. Andrei was somewhere in the hall, accompanied by his British husband, Sascha, she was sure. But tonight, Andrei was not squiring her.
Rather, it was someone much more satisfying than even the pretty (and completely gay) Andrei Leonovich; so satisfying that she had chosen to uproot herself and move to Los Angeles permanently ….
It’s that time of year again, when all the world begins turning green — and I’m not talking about how close spring is to officially starting. Tomorrow is St. Patrick’s Day; and, as you have one red-haired cailín on hand here with a severe case of Celtophilia, and another lass willing to go along with her — well, here we are again. We don’t quite have shamrocks tucked behind our ears, and we won’t be swilling green-dyed beer anytime soon, Second Life or Real Life. (Green beer’s an Americanism, anyways, and barbarous at the best of times.) That doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun with green stylin’.
I had hoped to get this written and published before the close of Join Hands for Nepal, but time and events conspired to make it nearly otherwise. Still, if you can get to the event before it closes, please do so. This dress I wear, and the pearls from Lazuri, are both special editions made for the event.
When the world is fast asleep,
Along the midnight skies–
As though it were a wandering cloud–
The ghostly dream-ship flies.
An angel stands at the dream-ship’s helm,
An angel stands at the prow,
And an angel stands at the dream-ship’s side
With a rue-wreath on her brow.
The other angels, silver-crowned,
Pilot and helmsman are,
And the angel with the wreath of rue
Tosseth the dreams afar.
Furisode (振袖) is Japanese, referring to the extremely long arm style on formal kimono worn by young unmarried women. I can’t say how many of us in Second Life enjoy walking about in a kimono, but I do on occasion, even putting on “Keiko,” my Asian character from my stories, for the moment (as I have here). And, since it was time to update the kimono I have in my Inventory, I went to the currently running Japan Fair 2014 to pick up a new one or two, preferably in mesh. I found this magnificent one in the clothing section, made by AZUL, which is probably really meant for a wedding. The fabric is all white silk, and it’s in the uchikake style (打掛), with a brocaded “overcoat” over the actual gown and obi sash.
I went looking for a hairstyle to fit it as well; and I discovered a booth by Tukinowaguma! I realize that I said in my previous article that this house of fabulously complex hair was moribund, though still open, but it now appears I’m happily mistaken. Hopefully KateForster Akina is rested and refreshed and ready to kick out lots of new styles for us, both Japanese and western.
