“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
William Butler Yeats

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
William Butler Yeats
Still half asleep, I sought the hill and found
My vantage place, then stood a moment there
To probe the wind for some familiar sound;
But no vibrtation moved along the air,
And I learned nothing that I did not know
From the far east’s faint conglomerate glow.
I asked the stars, what destiny awaits
Carl John Bostelmann, “Dawn Vigil”
Beyond this dark incalculable night? …
And suddenly, incredibly, the gates
Of morning opened to approaching light;
Then, somewhere near, a bird began to sing —
And my heart heard the whole world listening.

I was gonna invoke shades of The Nutcracker here, but this area doesn’t quite fit the bill. Oh, well, lol. It’s still pretty, though.
I’ve developed a partiality for United Colors, and this gown is one of their best. Lots of colors available, and you can choose either opaque or nicely sheer. (I’d go for the opaque for the party season, myself, but I don’t know what parties you’ll be going to ….)

Always the light recedes; with groping hands
We stretch toward this glory, while the lands
We journey through are hidden from our sight
It’s a journey … that I propose … I am not the guide … nor
technical assistant … I will be your fellow passenger …
Though the rail has been ridden … winter clouds cover …
autumn’s exuberant quilt … we must provide our own guide-posts …
I have heard … from previous visitors … the road washes out
sometimes … and passengers are compelled … to continue
groping … or turn back … I am not afraid …
I am not afraid … of rough spots … or lonely times … I don’t
fear … the success of this endeavor … I am Ra … in a space …
not to be discovered … but invented …
I promise you nothing … I accept your promise … of the same
we are simply riding … a wave … that may carry … or crash …
It’s a journey … and I want … to go …

But what I could see out of the corner of my eye made me think of two lovely bundles of silk floating along a stream. In a moment they were hovering on the walkway in front of me, where they sank down and smoothed their kimono across their knees.

It’s a beautiful mornin’
I think I’ll go outside a while,
An’ just smile.
Just take in some clean fresh air, boy
Ain’t no sense in stayin’ inside
If the weather’s fine and you got the time.
It’s your chance to wake up and plan another brand new day ….
— “A Beautiful Morning,” by Edward Brigati and Felix Cavaliere
We’ve actually managed to get a lot done this week, and so I rewarded myself with a side trip. I did a little shopping at the Liaison Collaborative, then went up the stairs to the other, “non-affiliated” areas (shall we call them), and found some nice spots to shoot in while I’m wearing this dress. I really love Baiastice; in fact, I went to the main store (“Horrors! You shopped at the main store???“) the other day, and spotted a bunch of things that I’ll snaffle up when I get a chance. Even lots of the “classic” Standard Sizing items will still work on a mesh body.
