Tripping the 2020 Faire

I’ve been wound up with outside affairs this past few weeks, and I just managed to squeeze in a run through this year’s Fantasy Faire. There were several extremely creative regions this time through, and I snapped my favorite views in photos, so to preserve their memory and share it with others.

There will be two sections here; the first is a gallery of landscapes, while the second shows what I wore, built mostly from offerings at the various vendors. You can click on the gallery for larger views, and there’s a link at the bottom for full size. (Some of these are 1920 wallpapers.)

“Black Coffee, Babe!”

It is inhumane, in my opinion, to force people who have a genuine medical need for coffee to wait in line behind people who apparently view it as some kind of recreational activity.

These days, it seems, you gotta have something else besides just the coffee — you need a great coffeehouse to serve the brew up. And not just the coffee, but the ever-essential pastries and sandwiches and juices. I suspect (based on my reading; I’m not that old) that anyone who hung out in a Sixties beatnik coffeehouse, and then was dropped into a modern Starbucks, would shriek in horror, and demand that they immediately go back to serving just coffee, right that instant (no, not instant coffee), or she would explain to them the absurdity of all human activity, and let them struggle with the existential shock.
