The woman gazed at the ident-block on the door’s security panel with a nervous expression. She had passed any number of such panels on the way up to this office, but none of them had read:
Sherman, Ariel Chairwoman / CEO Fantasial Productions ILC
It felt strange to Taraia to be interviewed by the CEO of a corporation for a job … especially when the job was really an entrance-level position. Her college advisor had told her that Lady Ariel was peculiar in this way; she wanted to get a feel for new-hires outside of the production aspects of her theatre’s show and night club. Was it because, again according to her advisor, promotions came from within the corporation, and so she might have closer daily exposure with the Boss than at two or three removes …?
I’ve been wound up with outside affairs this past few weeks, and I just managed to squeeze in a run through this year’s Fantasy Faire. There were several extremely creative regions this time through, and I snapped my favorite views in photos, so to preserve their memory and share it with others.
There will be two sections here; the first is a gallery of landscapes, while the second shows what I wore, built mostly from offerings at the various vendors. You can click on the gallery for larger views, and there’s a link at the bottom for full size. (Some of these are 1920 wallpapers.)
“… [I]n the absence of sensory information, the imagination always tends to the grotesque.”
Patrick McGrath
I’ve been doing a little cleanup in my Inventory, and found this gown. It’s vintage now, along with the hair and fur, but worth sharing in some photos.Read the rest of this entry »
I am that woman who would wait for dawn, Nor slept while the slow moon rode into sight;
Who, fighting weariness, gazed full upon The starry circle drawn around the night.
I saw the Milky Way fade like a cloud, And, drowsy-lidded, watched the distance grow Between me and the Pleiades, nor bowed To heavy hands of sleep upon my brow.
Then, when night grew more stilly palpitate Listening for the faint birth-cry of morn, And the cock crew, I, at the very gate, Fell into cloddish slumber, all out-worn.
Even as I slept, soft as a look or sigh, The Dawn with Love beside her passed me by.
Much as I enjoy Celtic Thunder and The High Kings, this isn’t the Rocky Road To Dublin. I found a fantastic place for rural and sylvan photography in the Destination Guide, called Scarlett Isle, and went to check it out. And it must definitely be fantastic, because there were quite a few folk there along with me (relatively speaking).
The extra avatars were no problem; I got in my shots and did a little exploring without getting in anyone else’s way. Here’s one landscape wallpaper (1920 size); you can find others on my Flickr stream, along with the two other finished photos from here ….

I can’t say why we keep ending up at clubs and bars and coffeehouses, except they’re convenient places with lots of poses laid in already, and often props to help out as well. Of course, for this song, a bar or club is really needed.

There’s some interesting things at the current events and the Fantasy Faire, but I decided to dip into my back Inventory, and stumbled across this dress. Conan was kind enough to serve as mon bel amour for a shot (well, he does live in Québec), and here we are.
Moonlight becomes you It goes with your hair You certainly know The right thing to wear
Moonlight becomes you And I’m thrilled at the sight And we could get So romantic tonight
I went wandering through Dublin last night, and discovered that I had been gone for quite a while. The owners are revamping the sim again, moving backward (in a sense) to a sort of composite of what was in the old Dublin 1 and 2. (Don’t get yourself into a lather with worry — the Blarney Stone is still there, with all its programming.) And it was a joy to me to find that they had brought back (in a more up-to-date fashion and under a new name) the little hole-in-the-wall barbershop that had so enchanted me in my early days. It’s bigger to a degree, but it’s still down a flight of stairs from the upper area, still with retro posters and paintings and hairstyle photos.
Take a look some time at the “new” Dublin, and hopefully enjoy all the old goodies they’ve brought back, as well as some new ones. Be careful about going into some of the doors, however, as there are some spots that have solid thief doors hanging down a little. You may get your way in; but I was almost trapped inside the local post office. I had to double-click my way out (and discovered that Dublin now has point-to-point teleport disabled).

You have to take some time to enjoy the day when you get the opportunity, and so Diana and I are pausing in our shopping to get some iced tea. (I guess it’s iced; that’s the only reason for the glasses. Perhaps they’re just using the teapot to carry the tea.)
… then let me have a nice warm cashmere sweater. Something that’ll keep me warm even if the shoji is thrown wide open. This one may have a huge gap up the center of the back, but it does the job, it’s stylish, and I just keep the fireplace stoked.
